King of Cups. Weiser Waite Smith Tarot
The King of Cups is seated and is holding a cup close to his chest. He does not look into it, but gazes outward. It is not clear if he is offering you the cup or is keeping it for himself. The King of Cups is traditionally seen as the romantic figure—more committed and stable than the Knight; less wishy-washy than the Queen. But the King is also thoughtful and concerned about others, or a spiritual figure. When it comes to the matters of the heart, the King of Cups prefers to take an intellectual approach. He can dissect the various methods of love, its biological and its emotional components, and the historical and sociological pressures on a couple to marry. He would watch a romantic comedy and understand how it relates to myths such as Psyche and Eros, Tristan and Isolde, and he would have something to say on how these movies give their viewers unrealistic expectations for emotional connection. He will also have read a lot of Freud. None of this should impact the King of Cup’s ability to feel and to love, however. The understanding, if anything, adds depth to his emotions. The King does not reach this level of knowledge in order to scheme. He is not trying to game anyone or learn bogus seduction techniques. He simply wants to understand his own heart in order to survive its pangs and know what to do with it. At the time that Harry Harlow was studying psychology in the 1920s, there was a strange atmosphere in the scientific community. Male doctors were instructing new mothers not to touch their babies. Too much touch and too much comfort would make a baby soft and dependent as he or she grew older, they contended. Better to let the infant learn self-sufficiency, cry out his problems, and figure out what to do on her own. It would lead to strong, intelligent men and women. Harlow knew this was nonsense, and he decided to prove it. He would separate baby monkeys from their mothers and put them in cages to see how they reacted. He would create fake monkey mothers out of cloth and wire—the cloth ones provided no food, while those fashioned from wire did—and see which ones the babies preferred. Even when hungry, they would cling to the soft cloth mother. Babies without any touch at all simply didn’t thrive. Many became violent, anxious, and began to hurt themselves. Babies need touch and love, he determined—as much, if not more so, than they need food. Harlow’s studies revolutionized our understanding of love and the human need for it. Periodically we decide that the need for love must be weakness, and then someone—a King of Cups—goes about proving it’s essential for human life. Like all the Kings, the risk is overabstraction. That by studying love and emotions they run the risk of separating themselves from it. Or, understanding the darker side of love so well, they can’t let themselves trust ever again. Harlow himself was a terrible husband, or so said his first wife Clara Mears. Cold and distant, showing more concern and attention to his monkeys than to his own family. But in general, the King of Cups can recite Shakespeare’s sonnets, explain the science of attachment, quote studies on the evolutionary advantages of love, and yet refuse to give himself over to the actual experience of it. But the King of Cups has a tremendous capacity for love and emotional connection, if he is willing to accept that the strangest aspects of love cannot be dissected logically. Love is as mysterious as the soul, and people have been trying to figure out that thing for centuries without much luck. The brain will take you only so far into love; the rest of the way has to be lit with uncertainty. Radiator Springs/Rusteze-Dinoco Racing Center/Fireball Beach/Thunder Hollow/Thomasville/Florida International Speedway (Cars)
Takes place after Cars 3.
It isn’t combat based. Missions include keeping up with McQueen’s top speed by racing down Radiator Springs’ main street, learning how to turn right to go left at Willy’s Butte, keeping up with Cruz’s top speed on Fireball Beach, avoiding pushy competitors with the Thunder Hollow challengers, and practicing with Cruz at Thomasville, culminating in the Piston Cup race at Florida International Speedway, where the objective is to win against Jackson Storm.
Sora enters the world as a custom-made sports coupe mixing a few real-life sports car models before visits to Luigi’s Casa Della Tires and Ramone’s House of Body Art end with him modified into a next-gen race car sponsored by Dinoco (with Tex’s blessing) and with Cruz’s number.
It’s set during Cruz’s first Piston Cup racing season, so McQueen still has Doc’s colors and spends the Florida race as Sora’s crew chief.
As Sora finishes his story, Mater is certainly unhappy with Xehanort’s actions forcing Sora’s hand. “That dad-gum Xehanort”, he says angrily. Extra points if Sora doesn’t get to the part where Xehanort is dead, then Sarge gets in his face and demands him to teach Xehanort a lesson when he gets back in a militaristic manner. “Is that understood,” Sarge yells. Then Sora tries to correct him, but gets cut off and asked again, “Is that understood,” and has to respond, “Sir, yes, sir!”
Of course, during the top speed races, Luigi is the one to signal the race to begin.
In the Radiator Springs race, Sora’s top speed is tracked by Sheriff’s speed radar, and on Fireball Beach, it’s via Cruz’s personal assistant, Hamilton.
If you fail the “Turn Right to go Left” mission, Sora goes flying into the bed of cacti, and Mater fishes him out.
I know I’ll get hate for this, but Cars 2 elements are here. Heck, maybe Mater can’t be present most for the training because he’s busy with Finn and Holley. After all, does he still owe Holley a first date?
I wanted the player character in this world to be Kairi just so Storm can feel the embarrassment of losing to not one, but two “costume girls”.
The Piston Cup race is announced as a 500-lap race, but no game developer is that malicious to force the player to race 500 laps around an oval, so they’d take after the first Cars game and make it twelve laps with the sun slowly lowering throughout the race.

Prescott "Scott" Reese is a witch that currently resides in Echo Acres and has been a Lunar Cove resident all his life.
ITS THE END OF THE WORLD
GENDER/PRONOUNS: Cis Male, He/Him
DATE OF BIRTH: March 30, 1987
OCCUPATION: Owner of PC Barleys
FACECLAIM: Jesse Williams
AS WE KNOW IT, AND I FEEL FINE
SPECIES: Witch
INHERENT ABILITIES: Botanical Communication, Omnilingual, Water Manipulation
COVEN POSITION: Member
COVEN ABILITY: Healing
WELCOME TO LUNAR COVE, PRESCOTT REESE
Trigger Warnings: bloodletting, maternal death, broken engagement
The dynamic in the Reese house was never typical, nor was it conducive to anything resembling a happy childhood. Given that both of his parents, Crispin and Cordelia Reece, were witches, Prescott was never believed to be anything else. Given that his mother was the more ambitious and powerful of his two parents, and his father had grown resentful of her inherent abilities and the ways he perceived they made her better by the time Scott was old enough to perceive anything, no one really knew how their kids would shake out. Plus, he had the example of Crispin staying with his mother because he hoped, somehow, she could elevate him. It was an odd sort of power play that never really worked or resulted in more power.
When Scott’s inherent abilities began coming to light, he was a blend of both his parents. Things his dad thought were mostly useless – botanical communication and omnilingual abilities – were the first to appear. There was no evidence Scott shared his mother’s eidetic memory or duplication talents. Although Crispin seemed relieved, he had Scott bracing to be a disappointment almost immediately. It’s the reason he worked for perfect grades, followed rules, stayed out of trouble, and put enormous pressure on himself since the beginning of time. It’s the reason Scott actively strives to hide the fact he’s terrible at potions from his father, even as an adult. He doesn’t crave approval the way he once did, but it’s just easier not to have daily conversations front-loaded with self-deprecation.
The thing they never talk about, under any circumstances, is that Scott shares one ability with his mother: water manipulation. He uses it in his favor, combined with ability for botanical communication, to ensure his brewery is a success. He grows his own grain to brew or distill from and, through his fastidious attention to detail, it’s widely well-regarded, allowing him to have a successful home-grown distribution operation to as many of the bars and restaurants in town as are interested. But absolutely all of it started as a way to mask the fact that he can’t mix a potion to save his life. He can secure high-quality ingredients, but he can’t mix them. It was quickly apparent when he joined the coven, at least to him, and he’s pretty sure he’s been successful at hiding it by trusting his more capable friends without admitting to his reasoning. He’s not above a little flattery to get his way. But it all comes down to one thing: he limits his use of this inherent ability to only something he can gain, because he’s absolutely terrified of what it will do if it gets out of control or if he flirts with something darker. After all, he saw what happened to his mother when it killed her. He doesn’t particularly want to carry that sort of generational experience forward.
The other thing he and his father never talk about is what happened the night his mother died. It wasn’t exactly altruistic, trying to save his younger sibling who was bleeding following a car accident. With no healing ability between them, Cordelia lent herself to dark magic just to see if she could do it. He suspected it wasn’t the first time, but he wasn’t exactly in a position to say anything as he watched it all play out. Yes, it saved his sibling, but the consequence for her ambition was swift – she died a grisly death in front of her husband and two young children. Prescott remembers it well enough for all of them, even if the memories are slanted with the odd and inaccurate perspective of youth. He mainly remembers being terrified, and then all but shunned by his father. He’s come to believe Crispin’s perspective on it all is a toxic, masculine insecurity that he couldn’t help, wasn’t powerful enough, was too afraid to try. Regardless of the particulars, what it meant was Scott’s family fractured and has never recovered. While what happened is either not a secret, or is at best a poorly concealed one, it’s definitely not something they ever discuss.
It prompted him to look outside his family for close ties, throwing himself at any available relationship for comfort. The only thing stable about his high school, then college, self was who the baseline he found in her. (He can’t bring himself to think of her name, but that’s a whole other conversation.) Though they certainly weren’t perfect, they were consistent in their inconsistency. He always figured the details were rooted mostly in their joint fears – of growing up, overarching themes of growing up to be insufficient or lacking somehow, of being alone. As long as they had each other, they weren’t alone and eventually it became something more steady.
He’d always planned on leaving Lunar Cove for college, but the best offer he’d gotten was close to home. That all changed with graduate school offers and he seriously considered going away, but he wasn’t brave enough to do it alone. He didn’t really want to. In spite of being young, he proposed and it somehow didn’t seem like a terrible idea. In fact, he was really excited about his future.
Of course, it crumbled. By the time he left for school as planned, he did it alone and while he studied hard, he also didn’t hold back, cutting loose for the first time in his life now that his father wasn’t there to look over his shoulder.
He returned to Lunar Cove willingly enough, appreciating it for the security it provided. He’d started brewing beer in his bathtub during grad school, upgrading when he moved back to kegging. He began distributing on a whim, and once he realized he had plenty of hours to fill, he started figuring out how to distill liquor, too. For all he lacks in potions ability, he’s got the brewing and distilling down to a science, and it’s busy enough he isn’t bored. Plus he’s just starting to dabble in grape growing and wine making. It’s enough to keep him busy, plus he’s more active with the coven these days than he was even as a young adult. With all the chaos happening recently, he has a feeling that’s the best place for him. It feels less precarious than being completely on his own, though.
At least here, he can openly discuss and debate topics like light versus dark magic and examine how dark magic affects more than just himself or his family. He can focus all his energy into studying that, however unstructured the study is, and it seems like the next step. He could never really do that outside of Lunar Cove, though, so it might be part of what drew him back. It’s certainly not his father, who still resides in the same house as always. It’s certainly not his ex-everything, who he almost lives in fear of seeing and has managed to avoid by living on outskirts and making a farm where he spends most of his time. He just has to hope it’s the fight against dark magic that drew him back years ago and not something worse lurking around the corner.

✧ Biography Bits | tw: parent death, dark magic (blood control) mention, broken engagement ; full bio here
Oldest child of Crispin and Cordelia Reese. Both of his parents are witches, so it was no surprise Prescott started showing abilities as a teenager.
His innate abilities are botanical communication, he's omnilingual, and water manipulation. When he joined the coven, he gained healing ability (too little, too late.)
His mother, Cordelia, died in front of him when her foray into dark magic backfired. She was successful in saving his sibling, but it also ended up killing her. He's not sure if it's the only time she attempted blood control. As an adult, he'd wager it wasn't. Either way, though, it was enough to keep him firmly away from dark magic no matter what else has gone wrong in his life.
In fact, he advocates strongly to avoid the use of dark magic, and the consequences it can bring, at all. He's pretty strict on that point, even if it's cause some fraught relationships between himself and other coven members (Jasmine St. Claire)
Leaned on his friend, especially after his mom died, and they were a bit of a thing. Anyone who knew him before linked them. They weren't perfect, but by the time he was finishing college, he had proposed and she'd accepted. He'd gotten into graduate school outside of Lunar Cove and wanted (intended) to keep her with him. As it turned out, where the rubber met the road, she didn't feel the same. They called it off -- more her than him -- and he left for school heartbroken and alone. It was a recipe for getting lost and acting out, to be sure.
Returned to Lunar Cove on the cusp of 30 years of age when he realized he would never get his shit together if he wasn't somewhere with structure -- somewhere he could really function and use all his abilities to his own benefit. Well. Most of them.
He started brewing beer in his bathtub in college, but went legit and actually started putting it into bottles and kegs once he was back in Lunar Cove and had the space. These days, he grows most of his own grain, but his distribution remains word-of-mouth only. Though it is a named company, that's the extent of it. No office space, no signs, no stationary or checks. He's in his own little niche, just busy enough, and has no plans to change it.

Fall, Year 8: Peasants, pt. 4
The only picture I have of Christa and Elias' household is the birth of their latest baby, Crispin. As I recall, they are still struggling to make ends meet and keep up with the rent.
At Ezra and Marissa's, the family keeps busy. Ezra keeps wanting to plant more crops, so their garden keeps expanding and is taking up most of their small yard.
Georgina helps a lot with pulling weeds and with fishing as the family prepares for winter.
She's not a fan of the family's roommate. He has a townie girlfriend. I think I moved her in with the intention of moving them out together or letting them start a family. (I don't remember either of their names.)
My poorhouse families finally have enough funds to move into regular apartments, which is good because the lot was having a problems with their yards not registering as part of the apartment and was limiting their already tiny space.
Juliana and Sebastian move into one of the complexes that houses peasants and merchants. It has a lively common area and they fit right in.
Juliana gives birth in their new apartment lot to a second baby girl named Siobhan.
And their elder daughter, Gillian, becomes a teenager.
Hazel and Damian move with their boys to the new lot where Madeline, Jess, Ava, and Jonas are living now. Hazel and the boys commemorate their move by planting a tree in their backyard.
Damian celebrates the move by asking Hazel to marry him. (They have been autonomously engaged and broken up before. I'm not sure if it will stick or not. Maybe they just needed to get in a better financial position / living situation to make a commitment.)

For the record, that episode with all those Roy's was so funny to me bc it was basically Crispin Freeman talking to himself the whole time with Jesse "Beautiful Soul" McCartney occasionally adding in his two cents
